Dr. Sir Emeka Chijioke Madekwe is a PhD holder in Public Administration. A very articulate, upward-looking and confident silent-achiever. He is a man that exudes much beliefs in himself, with an unwavering faith that nothing is impossible for an aspiring and hard-working fellow. He is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Commodore Hotels Limited situated at the heart of the Nation’s capital city of Abuja.
Dr. Sir Madekwe, was born on February 12th 1969 and hails from Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. He is roundly and soundly-learned: having variously obtained his B.Sc. in Library Studies from Abia State University; He studied further for another B.Sc. in Public Administration from University of Abuja. For his insatiable quest for education, he enrolled and obtained an LL. B (Hons.) in Law from National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). And quite voraciously, he took another landmark academic voyage by embarking on a further study for PGD from University of Ilorin, M.Sc. and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degreesin Public Administration respectively from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
As a successful businessman and entrepreneur with a strong foothold in merchandising and hospitality industry, he has maximized his corporate leadership and scholarly abilities in carving a niche both for Commodore Hotels Limited and himself as the Chairman/CEO, making it a Brand in a class of its own.
Dr. Sir Emeka Madekwe is a man with an enviable track record of excellence and success in his personal and entrepreneurial preoccupations, a virtue that has not only given him wide reckoning but respect and honour. Under proven consistent and dedicated practices, he has spent years in sales activities, corporate governance, public leadership, hospitality management and other dispositions where his ideas generation and implementation’s ability have distinguished him as a sagacious and ingenious figure, with a rare and exquisite commitment to perfection in all his endeavor.
Structuring his portfolio with dedication, commitment, and integrity, Dr. Madekwe’s experience and education have yielded great results that can be boldly seen in the monumental success which is a derivative of his corporate leadership acumen. He is a Fellow of The Institute of Management Consultants IMC-Nigeria an accredited member of The International Council Of Management Consulting Institutes as well as a Fellow of The Institute of Sales Management of Nigeria. He and his companies are members of Abuja Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Onitsha Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture as well as Hotel Owners Forum Abuja.
In consideration of the intimidating credentials and imposing streeks of successes of Dr. Sir. Emeka Chijioke Madekwe, which has positively impacted on humanity, the Academic and Award Committee of European-American University proudly extoled his virtues and conferred on him, the award of Doctor of Arts in Public Administration and Hospitality Management, honoris causa, with all the rights and privileges of the University.
He has also been presented with an award by Rotaract District 9140 of Rotary International in recognition of his contributions and outstanding achievements in service to humanity and Rotary International. His company, Commodore Hotels Ltd has also been awarded the Corporate Leadership Award by National Leadership Award, Nigeria.
Dr. Madekwe is a Knight of the Order of St. Christopher and the Founder of Aid Dynasty Foundation, a Non – governmental, non profit charity organization built on love & partnership for the welfare & support of vulnerable children and women. He is married to Dr. Mrs Akuoma Madekwe and they both are blessed with four children, two of whom are medical doctors, a pharmacist and the youngest, a student. His hobbies include learning, reading, volunteering, music and travelling.
